The body of Doctor Allwell Orji who committed suicide by jumping off the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos into a Lagoon has been discovered by the Marine Police. Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) had on Sunday said it received a distress call on the incident. The agency said the medical practitioner parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV with registration number LND 476 EE at about 4.50 pm before Adekunle, inward 3rd Mainland bridge and jumped into the Lagos Lagoon. LASEMA General Manager, Adesina Tiamiyu, assured that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.

A woman who had to be tested for HIV after having her ear pierced has said she was glad to see the studio's owner brought to justice. Molly Ormond, 19, had the procedure at Newport's Blue Voodoo tattoo and piercing studio. Newport council launched an investigation into the business after five customers suffered serious skin infections in May 2015. Owner John Cochran, 60, admitted several health and safety offences at Cardiff Crown Court and was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence on 16 December this year. Ms Ormond said that she was "scared and nervous" while waiting for the results.
Despite resuming operations last week Wednesday after workers shut down operations over non-payment of salaries, stranded Arik Airline passengers were yesterday forced to sleep on the floor while waiting at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos State. Some were said to have slept on the floor overnight as their flights were either not mentioned or cancelled for no cogent reason from the management. It has been revealed that a Qur’anic School teacher in Kurna Babban Layi area of Kano has perfected plans to marry off his 13-year-old daughter, Bilkisu, to his 56-year-old friend. The revelation was made by a relative of the teenager who raised the alarm on Saturday when she took the teenager to Freedom Radio office in Sharada, Kano for a media campaign against the marriage.
