There were reports over the media earlier that the Nigeria police took over National Stadium, venue of nationwide protest – but according to a tweet from Nigerian actor, Baaj Adebule, who is currently at the protest venue, the policemen are there to protect and ensure a peaceful protest, not disrupt.
Tuface, has canceled the much-publicised February 6 anti-government protest, citing “security challenges”. In an Instagram post and a short video via his official handle @official2baba late Saturday, Tuface announced the cancellation of the protest scheduled to hold in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country. 41 Nigerians, deported from the United Kingdom (UK), arrived Lagos on Wednesday. The chartered Airbus 330 aircraft that brought them landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 8am. It was learnt that they were deported for alleged immigration offences. (more…)
Comedian Seyilaw says he is not backing out from the planned protest scheduled to hold tomorrow, February 6th despite the cancellation as announced by Singer, 2face Idibia few hours ago. Seyi Law says, ‘I am giving Nigerians the assurance that I will be at the stadium tomorrow. We have a right to our protest. I absolutely understand 2baba, but I am not backing out’. His tweets reads:
