Football player scores bicycle kick, proposes to girlfriend then he gets a yellow card

Scoring a bicycle kick goal is definitely a moment to celebrate for any footballer.

But there were further celebrations for this player – who went on to propose to his girlfriend just seconds later.
NAPA Rovers player Ashton Surber ran towards the crowd and took off his shirt to reveal a ‘Marry me?’ T-shirt underneath, after scoring his impressive goal.

Surber, who plays in the top league in the western Pacific island of Guam, was shown a yellow card by the referee for taking his shirt off.

However, the footballer was unsurprisingly undeterred – continuing to get down on one knee before blowing a kiss at his girlfriend.

He appears to gesture to her to ask what her answer is and can be seen embracing a teammate after she apparently said ‘yes’.

NAPA Rovers ended up winning the match 5-1, putting a stop to Guam Shipyard’s unbeaten run.
